What should i think while making career moves ?

(draft blog, editing in progress)

I was recently going through the Play to Potential podcast series between Vinay Sitapati and Deepak Jayaraman.  Vinay is an author of the book: Half Lion: How P.V Narasimha Rao Transformed India
(Published by Penguin Randomhouse) - traces P.V. Narasimha Rao’s journey from his modest beginnings in Telangana to the post of the Prime Minister.

He spoke like an expert in the podcast and brought about gripping facts about the subject of the book. Beyond this, I found the interactions enlightening at many levels.

One of the things that he shared was the career principles that he followed in his journey. In addition to having a great educational qualification, his career has revolved around the disciplines of Law, Journalism, Teaching and Writing.

Having gone through multiple career shifts, he shares his philosophy around how he made career choices, which is a sum of these 3 questions he asked himself:

Am i enjoying myself ? + Am i relevant ? + Am I growing ?

I loved this representation by Vinay just for it's simplicity. If, in the current moment, the answer to any of these is a 'no' or a 'may be', then better take charge of situation to do what needs to be done to get these answers to a 'yes'.
